I run in MedellÃn just about every day and love it. The city is framed by mountains, the weather is warm but not too humid, and there are a number of routes available. I prefer to run either on the cycle paths in Suramericana-Laureles area or up to Cerro el Volador which offers a stunning view of the city. Cerro el Volador is one of two hills inside MedellÃn, the other being Cerro Nutibara, which has paths and a little small scale pueblo at its top. Previously I ran various roads in Poblado and also did some serious mountain running last summer in the Robledo neighborhood (which probably would not be advised). Apart from cars that never stop for pedestrians and the diesel buses that can spew smoke, I have found running here to be pleasant and without problems. The air can be thick sometimes and I have found it best to go in the morning. Also, early afternoon siesta and school dismissals tend to make things clogged at that time.
