Five kilometers in the centre of Tripoli in a wood park of acacia and eucalyptus trees of 4 square kilometers next to the zoo. The running track is a beaten path which starts from a sport centre and cross the wood for all the run. Almost 800 meters run along a wadi (dry river) twenty meters wide which separates the wood from a side of the zoo so the runner enjoys the free sight of desert animals and a giant aviary with rare african birds which crosses the wadi and reaches the running track. Another 300 meters of the track cross a pasture with a herd of camels (camels in Libya are not in the zoos). The smell of trees in mid seasons and their shadows give a fresh breath and mitigates the heat during hot hours. One crosses rare runners and walkers covered with heavy track-suits even in summer. No water and no signals available along the track but also no stray dogs which are frequent in these regions. Not good for disabled athletes but worthwhile a run.
