In Aveiro from the train station you find easily the "ria de Aveiro" (river). You can run with little effort by the "ria" side to Forum Aveiro (a shopping mall) or continue running even longer. Aveiro is a completely flat city and ideal for endurance training. There is plenty of space to run or ride a bicycle in a very aerobic manner, because there are no hills (Aveiro is a pioneer city in Portugal in the use of bicycles, named "bugas", and almost everybody uses them).
