Tver is a city of about 500,000 located between Moscow and Saint Petersburg. I call this the bridge run. The starting point for this run is in the back of the modern shopping center Olymp. You start out running towards the Volga river on Tryokhsvyatskaya street. You will cross a square with busy road running through it and a statue of Lenin in the center. Run past Lenin and continue on Tryokhsvyatskaya street. The street will end shortly and you will take a left. You will come up on a bridge, the "old" bridge, where there are stairs leading up to the walkway next to the road. Take the bridge across the Volga and then take the stairs on the right leading down to the river bank. Circle around to the right and go under the bridge through a tunnel. You will now be running along the river bank on a cement walkway. You will eventually come to another bridge, the "new" bridge. Cross back over the Volga on this bridge and as soon as you cross you will go down stairs on your left to a walkway along the other bank of the Volga. You will now be running towards the first bridge you crossed. Stay on the walkway next to the river bank and go under the bridge. About 200 meters after going under the "old" bridge there should be a staircase and if there is not just charge up the hill! The point is to get back on Tryokhsvyatskaya street and back track back to Olymp. There are no drinking fountains along the way and you should not drink the local water anyway. Get bottled water at Olymp. Russians will stare at you because running is not really part of their lifestyle. Total mileage is about 2.5. Have fun!
