The woods around Hvalsø are perfect for running almost all year around. There is a hilly "wood"-marathon taking place every year (www.skovloeberen.dk). There are lakes, small streams, open landscapes and a great variety of plants and wildlife (including deer). It is a fantastic place for both walkers and runners, specially serious traning for long distances. Highly recommendable!
