In Grenoble, try going to the Parc de l'Ile d'Amour in Meylan. This park offers an excellent choice for runners/joggers as you can just run around the park and picnic areas (the whole loop is about 3.8 kilometers) or run-till-you-drop along the Isere river. Just be careful if you choose to run along the river as there is no loop that goes back to the same place where you started, so it is necessary to make a U-turn and go back the same way you followed. Running along the river is beautiful, though, since you are quite far from car and street traffic. Little by little, you will get away from the downtown area and approach the farmlands. Enjoy!
