Split, the second largest city in Croatia (the biggest city on the Eastern side of the Adriatic Sea), has several places for running which are being frequently used. The most significant one is the forested peninsula of Marjan with many tarmac roads (no traffic allowed), running tracks, etc. The majority of people starts running from the northern side of Marjan which is approximately 1 kilometer away from city's downtown. If one takes right before the northern entrance into the Marjan Tunnel after some 200 meters one will reach the entrance of the Marjan Forest Park. One can combine different lenghts, because every 200 meters there are white marks on the road, therefore one has sense of length. Beside running, one can choose going up the slope (approximately 3 kilometers long) to reach 160 meters high peak of Marjan.
