Even though I am from Zaragoza, I often visit Barcelona as my wife was born there, and, as Ricard did, I love to climb up to the Parque Güell, a really hard climb when one goes from La Plaza Joanic. And I should add: to make it longer, go up till the Carmelo church, go around and behind the mountain to finish again in the park. For a flat run, adequate for series, run the Villa Olímpica beaches to the buildings where the Forum de las Culturas will take place. Besides, this beaches areas are suitable for handicap athletes.
