Grenoble is a great town for runners, the valley was scraped flat by a glacier a few years ago, and so they have a few fast 10kms, half marathons and marathons. Just recently they held new Halloween race (10k, 21.1 & 42.2) round the town at night! Several thousand runners attended. The hill and mountains are just a few minutes from the town, so the variety of running is endless. Run38 (www.run38.com) is the local running calendar – it is worth a look and you can send questions to the webmaster in English.
