The "Lucky Loop" is a 14-16 kilomters (never bothered to measure but takes me about one and a half hour) run that takes you around the most scenic parts of Hong Kong Island and almost completely avoids road traffic. Only downside is that it is not flat (but climb is gradual). First half: start at Police Museum (interesection of Wanchai Gap, Middle Gap, Black's Link, Stubbs Road and Coombe Road). Facing South, take Black's link on your left for a gentle ascent towards the chopsticks and the Parkview. After maybe 10 minutes take a right just after a little resting station into the Hong Kong trail going towards Aberdeen. Enjoy the view of Aberdeen and Ocean Park. When crossing Middle Gap Road, make a right and turn into Middle-Gap Road towards the Police Museum. Enjoy one of the poshest roads in Hong Kong. Huge houses, huge pools, huge gardens, private tennis courts... you wouldn't believe you are in Hong Kong! Back to Police Museum, you have done the Lucky Loop's first half. You can have a drink at the Police Museum playground. Second half: go up Coombe Road and then to Barker Road. Run up Barker Road until the Peak Tram station. Enjoy yet another series of unbelievable houses. Once at the Peak Tram Station take a left for a 5-minute ascent to the Peak Galleria. Avoid the trigger happy tourists until the Peak Lookout Restaurant. Make a loop around Luggard Road (around 3.5 kilometers). Go down the way you came up. Alternatively, add some distance by running around Severn Road. You will end up at the Police Museum where you started. Easy to find taxis and buses once you are there.
