For a nice scenic walk/run at the heart of the city, the river waterfront (about 1 kilometer in length) is a pleasant walk or short jog among colonial buildings and if you want to explore a little, take the sampan across the river and you can explore a bit of the northern part of the city. It is just next to the major hotels so if you are pressed for time, you can run here.
