Another walk/run, is a mountain climb up to two of the nearby mountains. Mt Serapi is about 2988 feet with a tarmac road all the way up about 30 kilometers from the city. Mt Santubong is also another mountain (2658 feet) by the holiday peninsular of Damai where all tourist beaches, golf courses and hotels are. This is a 3-5 hour jungle trek so be dressed for it, not forgetting sufficient fluids. You could also run on the beaches and the golf course if you are so inclined. Speaking of jungle treks, the Nature Reserve of Bako has a number of treks. This resort is only accessible by boat and you will have to spend a few nights there but if jungle trekking is your forte, it will be well worth it. However the Park is not accessible during the monsoon season (December-March).
