Based at Kardamyli, near Stoupa, there are several excellent routes following ancient trails through the Vyros Gorge / Taygetos mountain range. The trails are colour coded and fairly easy to follow. We were there in May - the flowers were beautiful. We even saw tortoises basking in the sun on the mountain trails. Can be very hot and each trail includes some climbing.
