Downtown, there is a nice run along the harbour from Nyhavn (New Harbour) past the Little Mermaid to the Langelinie pier and back. Almost all of this route is without car traffic. The route passes the old citadel which you can loop one or more times if the out-and-back distance of approximately 5.5 km is too short for you. At the Port Authority building (with two conspicuous pavillions in front) you'll need to make a short turn inland (left) and then right past the big fountain (Gefion) in order to avoid a dead end at the dock for the Poland ferry.
