Tallinn, the capital of Estonia (circa 450 000 inhabitants) is an old port city (anno 1054). It spreads some 40km along the rocky coast of Finnish Gulf. The best place to run is Pirita - northern part of the city (the Yachting Regatta of Moscow Olympics 1980 held there). With its modern yachting centre, sandy beach and pine forests Pirita has gained popularity within running community. Lots of cross country races kept there on the banks of river Pirita winding through the pine forest, including "Tallinn City Marathon" in June. The marathon starting from the City Hall Square and after some km of medieval old town streets forwarding towards Pirita, where it concludes in the Yachting Centre. Picturesque views on the track, varying, pleasant one way course. Excuse me, sounds like commercializing, I've simply participated a couple of times.
