Fifteen years ago you could run anywhere in the city of Tehran, but I tended to stay as far north of the city as possible just for the pollution. But now-a-days you got to watch for not only pollution, but for getting picked up for indecent exposure (in case you want to wear shorts). Runners should ask at the hotel, there will be many willing individuals who would go out of their way to help them with that.
