Run The Planet is proud to introduce our new affiliate Run.com, the best running route resource on the web. If you are looking for a new Jerusalem running route, or want to share your favorite Jerusalem running routes with the rest of the word, Run.com is the place to be.
Try using Run.com to find a run, or publish a run of your own.
A great circular 5k (3 miles) course is at the Jerusalem Forest. It is easily accessible, very green, nearly traffic-free, and, as expected, hilly. You can park your car at the top of Mt. Herzl (ample parking space) or take one of the many buses that go there (#16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 33 & 39). Then, head westward and downhill (in the direction of the Yad-Vashem Institute) for approximately 2k, follow the road which turns east for another 3k (more or less) uphill, and go back to your starting point. You can repeat it as many times as you want. If you go early enough (my favorite time is around 6am), you can benefit from the cool weather even during the hot Israeli's summer and may get lucky and see a deer or a fox crossing your path. Enjoy it.
