For airline crew and business folks staying near the Tokyo International Airport, head in the opposite direction of just about any of the hotels along the Airport Freeway. The roads narrow and wind through quaint rice paddies, occasional Buddhist temples and old-style farming villages. Head towards town until you see the top of the Narita-San temple pagoda, then head for there, winding through pretty little town streets with slow moving traffic. No footpaths of course as there is no space! But the traffic is very tolerant.
