Seoul is too crowded? A very astute observation, however if you want to run badly you will run. I taught in Seoul in 1996/1997 and found a few places to run. My favorite place was a loop from Yonsei University up Edae (or Ewha) Mountain through Ewha Woman's University and back. It's not so crowded and the trail running practically takes you out of the city. If you don't mind the odd looks you'll get (running in shiny black tights up a mountain in Seoul in January gets you some odd stares) then go for it. One can also hop on the subway and go north until you're almost out of the city and run along the various paths between the farmer's fields. I found running in Seoul a very liberating experience, it kept me grounded and it motivated me to finish my first marathon in Kyongju.
