If you're in Baku in the summer I doubt you'll want to run anywhere. It's too hot and sweaty, better to have a drink on Fountains Square. There is anyway a Hash House Harrier group in town. Rural Azerbaijan is instead extremely easy for walking as there is no public land ownership so you can strike out anywhere you want. There are some beautiful rolling grass covered mountains full of wild flowers in the area behind Guba (a long way behind!) and the hills between Lerik and Yardimli would be very enjoyable for a very long ramble.
