You can find a running track in the town of Buea, capital of the South West Province. This one is more natural and much more difficult. It involves climbing to an altitude of about 4,070 metres above sea level, to the summit of Mount Cameroon (also known as Mount Fako). Actually, every February the Guinness Cameroon corporation organises a Mount Cameroon race in which thousands of participants try to beat each other at ascending and descending the mountain. The fastest time ever used so far is about three hours and the winner often gets a hefty cash prize.
