With several patented technologies related to footwear soles, the Luigi Pavone Helium Footwear Company introduced a new technology in the form of shoes with a unique health aid aspect. For the benefit of the runner, these futuristic shoes offer adjustable shoe sizes by for custom fitting, personalizable sole firmness enabling runners to have one pair of shoes for several different outdoor activities, and a Helium patented movement mechanism.
A hose, connected to the shoe outsole by a valve, inserts an Helium gel formula contained in an aluminum can. The helium changes the sole firmness and thickness, by inflating three special pockets extending out through windows in the outsole from heel to toe: one of them in the heel area, one in the middle of the foot near the arch area, and the other under the metatarsal ball area. This creates a push back with every step on paved roads while getting a comfortable landing.
The futuristic helium shoe has been made possible by the collaboration between a doctor of physical chemistry, a mechanical engineer and a shoemaker.
