  • 2000run.com: The Year Long Fitness Challenge - Great motivation for year round fitness. Runners from all over the world choose a goal: 500 miles, 1,000 miles, the year in miles or kilometers (for example: 2,000 miles or kilometers for the year 2000), or 2,500 miles to reach by December 31, of each year. Participants who reach their goal by December 31, may receive a medallion identifying the completion of the miles they achieved. The website has an online calendar for logging miles and for motivation and encouragement. The calendar allows you to access past years for comparison and also gives you your total miles run over all years participating; plus it tells you how many miles left in your goal. Choose a partner from across the globe and encourage each other.

A positive "must" for folks getting started and looking for places to go in their area.
