Running in Buenos Aires, Argentina

I’m stretching on the beach, and yawning in the process. I’m tired. Yesterday morning I ran in Buenos Aires (Argentina), and three days ago in Frankfurt, Germany. I can’t expect to reap much benefit from these unstructured runs between intercontinental flights. But in the final six miles of my next marathon I will remember the time I woke up weary and jet-lagged, forced myself out the door before dawn and slumbered for six miles to the “Casa Rosada” and back. No amount of glycogen depletion will keep me from finishing then!

Giorgio Pogliano’s morning coffee doesn’t come in a cup, but he can still find it everywhere. Running each morning is his daily “coffee” – it gives him the surge of energy, something good to reflect upon during the day, and a reason to look forward to tomorrow. Just like the different types of coffee found around the world, Giorgio finds different surroundings as he runs.
